The iridescence, the changing colors of the water, the incessant deformations and shifting reflections, the drifting or wandering dead leaves. Everything was instability and renewal. But everything was calm and peaceful, sliding towards an intermediate psychic state, by definition indefinable, where it is the inner eyes that watch and guide. I told myself that this was undoubtedly what motivated so many people to invest the price of a home in equipment with such limited annual use.
